Face to Face with John Lienhard
Wednesday, November 6, 2013 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

What is the driving force behind discovery and invention? Logical capacity, the individual genius, and the tenacity of the researcher are essential factors; however, scientific discovery is not merely the consequence of the sum of these factors. Something else, a particular newness, enters the horizon of experience that nevertheless maintains the role of the human being as true protagonist.

What exactly is the role of the scientist or the engineer in the act of discovering or inventing? What kind of event is discovery?

Join John Lienhard, distinguished professor, author, and radio personality, to explore this fascinating topic. Refreshments will be provided after the event.
