Since the Deep Water Horizon or Macondo well blowout that occurred April 20, 2010, everything about doing business in the Gulf of Mexico has changed. If you plan on working in the energy sector after graduation, you will be dealing with these changes on a daily basis. Mr. J. Keith Couvillion, Deepwater Land Manager - Chevron U.S.A. Inc. will be speaking on these changes and challenges. He will also address the opportunities facing the offshore energy industry in the United States. Legislative and regulatory changes will be highlighted along with a review of some of the approaches industry is using to address the ever changing offshore operating environment. The presentation will also touch on some of the new technologies industry is currently utilizing and what is being developed for the future.
