Golf Has Strong Showing in Tourney
Graphic: GolfThe University of St. Thomas men’s and women’s golf teams visited Texas Lutheran University for the TLU Men's Golf John Bohmann Memorial Tournament and the TLU Lady Bulldog Fall Classic on Sept. 10-11.

Three Celts competed for the men’s team. Jeff Swearingen played solid to shoot 74-72-76 and finish T15. A.J. Skiba struggled in round one with an 82, but played well in the next two rounds, shooting 72-73 to finish T27. Brad Brown shot 80-80-82 in his first college golf tournament to finish T57.

In the women’s tournament, Kara Jones hit the ball well, but struggled on the greens to shoot 84-82 and finished T26. Lauren Kinney had a rough time in the first round with a 96, but played her best round as a Celt in round two shooting 80 to finish in 37th. Celine Simmons finished 46th in the tournament.
