Celt Women Knock Off Texas College
Maghen LormandThe University of St. Thomas women's basketball team got back on track with a 82-65 win over Texas College on Dec. 1 in Jerabeck Gym. The win gives the Celts a record of 2-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play and 4-5 on the season.

"We needed a win badly," said Head Coach Mike Ricks. "We didn't defend as well as we would have liked in the first half, but we really picked it up in the second half."

Maghen Lormand led the Celts with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Gaby Guzman shot for 21 points. Amber Arceneaux-Francis had another double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Hershiira Boone-Rodgers contributed 16 points and eight assists.

Next up for the Celts is a matchup against Wiley College. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 in Jerabeck Gym.
