WBB Forward is Player of the Week
12/3/2012
Photo: Arceneaux-FrancisSenior Amber Arceneaux-Francis, a forward on the University of St. Thomas women’s basketball team, was named Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 26-Dec. 2.

Arceneaux-Francis tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds on Nov. 29, in a 110-78 loss to Our Lady of the Lake University. Rebounds were huge for Arceneaux-Francis when the Celts defeated Texas College 82-65. She contributed 18 points and 19 rebounds.

“Amber had a great week,” Head Coach Mike Ricks said. “She has been playing at a very high level all season. I think she could have won the award a couple other times already, but it is tough when there are so many other great players in our conference. I wouldn’t be surprised if she won it a few more times before the end of the season.”

The Celts next game is a conference showdown against No. 1-ranked Wiley College at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 in Jerabeck Gym. The game will be broadcast live on Premier Sports Network at psnsports.comDownload the schedule, and visit the team’s Facebook page.
