UST Offers Courses at St. Mary’s Catholic Center in College Station
1/18/2012

Fr Bill KellyThe Rev. David Konderla, pastor at St. Mary’s Catholic Center in College Station, has invited the University of St. Thomas to provide for-credit courses for the students affiliated with the Center beginning this semester.

The Rev. Bill Kelly, emeritus professor of theology, will teach a UST course, The Gospel and Letters of John, in College Station.  Students affiliated with St. Mary’s Catholic Center mostly attend Texas A&M University and Blinn College.  The Gospel and Letters of John has previously been accepted for transfer credit by Texas A&M, so in addition to the benefit of learning more about Scriptures, students may be able to apply this course to their degrees.

The Rev. Joseph Pilsner, UST’s dean of Arts and Sciences, said he hopes the pilot course will be the beginning of a fruitful relationship.

“We are delighted that Fr. Konderla, a UST alumnus, has invited us to begin teaching at St. Mary’s,” Fr. Pilsner said.  “I believe that UST can provide the first-rate courses that Fr. Konderla is looking for to enrich the education of the students under his care.”
