Nominate Students for 2012 Mardi Gras King and Queen
The University of St. Thomas is accepting nominations for the 2012 Mardi Gras King and Queen.
The students should preferably be a scholarship recipient or have made significant contributions to the University as a student, and have a record of representing the University with the values of a leader of faith and character.
Students can nominate themselves or be nominated by other students, faculty or staff.
To nominate a student for Mardi Gras King and Queen, submit a nomination form and a concise essay of 300 words or less, telling how they exemplify these traits. The deadline is Jan. 6, 2012, and finalists will proceed to interviews and student body elections.
The winning student king and queen be costumed and attend the Mardi Gras Gala on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to greet guests and eloquently thank the audience for their generous gifts to the scholarship fund. The king and queen may each bring one guest to the event.
The evening promises to be fun and continues a long tradition of student body participation in UST’s Mardi Gras event. For more information, contact Corey Flores at firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-525-3173.
