| Ramaswamy Named Associate Dean for CSB |
Dr. Beena George, dean of the Cameron School of Business, has announced that Dr. Vinita Ramaswamy, former professor of accounting, has been named associate dean for the Cameron School of Business.
As associate dean, Ramaswamy’s responsibilities include the assessment and accreditation of the program. This coming year, her role is especially important as both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission On Colleges and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditations are up for re-accreditation.
“This is an exciting position,” Ramaswamy said. “I have been part of the assessment committee since its inception, and currently chair the assessment committee. Since I have been very involved with the accreditation process, especially the AACSB, I have the experience needed for this position.”
George, notes that Ramaswamy has a passion for helping her students succeed both in the classroom and in the workplace.
“I have always been impressed by her passion for the student success, which is evident in all her work at the business school and the University,” George said. “Her experience and expertise in the different activities that support student learning, and her commitment to collegiality and collaborative decision-making will be invaluable in the business school’s pursuit of innovation and excellence. I look forward to our continued work together on these efforts.”
Ramaswamy started at St. Thomas as an adjunct professor in the spring of 1994 and worked her way up to a position as a full professor within the Cameron School of Business prior to her new appointment.
“I look forward to working with our new dean and with the faculty, all of whom are very committed to the University and CSB,” Ramaswamy said.
