| Experience the Music, Dance of the Tango on Oct. 1 |
The University of St. Thomas Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Casa Argentina de Houston and the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston will present, “Tango Time,” a recital of music and dance honoring maestro Horacio Ferrer with special participation from pianist René Casarsa. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Oct 1 in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum.
Also participating are Andrea Berri (singer), Pablo Donatti and Michael Fahey (violinists), Artan Zhuri (cellist), Susana Collins and Noe Rosas (dancers) and the winners of the 2011 Young Musician Scholarship Program.
The recital will take you through a nostalgic evening of tango dancing and the unforgettable music of Buenos Aires, from the “Guardia Vieja” to Astor Piazzolla.
Admission is $22 for the general public, $20 for members of Casa Argentina de Houston and the Institute of Hispanic Culture Houston and $10 for students.
