The University of St. Thomas women’s volleyball
team came away with another win against Bacone College 3-0 with sets 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19 on Sept. 29. The win put the Celts at 4-1 in conference play and 13-8 overall. Brittany Weiler
dished out 23 assists, three kills and six digs on the afternoon. Stephanie Biediger
led the offense with 12 kills, and Kirsten Kubicek
had nine kills. Sophomore Kylah Dias
finished with eight kills on 13 attempts with no hitting errors. She also had three service aces on the day. Shirley Paul
finished with a team best of 10 digs.
“Kylah is really playing well for us,” said Noble
. “The connection that she has with Brittany just continues to improve each week.”
Head Coach Kallie Noble also coached with no shoes during the game to support the Samaritan’s Feet Barefoot Coaching Movement
, which provides shoes and awareness for impoverished children. Fans can still donate to Samaritan’s Feet by visiting the donation web page
created for UST volleyball by Oct. 2. With a donation, an impoverished child will be given a new pair of athletic shoes.
