Submit Commencement Speaker Applications by March 21

As the excitement of graduation approaches, the search for the next student commencement speaker is in progress. Serving as commencement speaker is a unique opportunity to share your experience and leave your mark on the University of St. Thomas.

The Office of Student Affairs will accept applications for student commencement speaker until 5 p.m. Monday, March 21. Student Affairs expects to select a single speaker and an alternate by Friday, April 8.

The speaker will address the graduating class, parents, university faculty and staff and special guests by giving a short speech during the commencement ceremonies. All interested students should prepare a five-minute speech and submit the following information:

• Full name
• A draft of your five-minute speech (double-spaced)
• Major
• Phone number
• E-mail address
• Home mailing address
• Resume (including activities and UST honors)

Students may submit hard copy applications to the Office of Student Affairs, second floor of Crooker Center, or e-mail application materials to mailto:studentaffairs@stthom.edu with the subject line “Student Speaker.”
