Celts Vying for RRAC Menís Soccer Tournament Berth
10/18/2011
The University of St. Thomas men’s soccer team recorded an 0-5-1 record during the early stages of the regular season. But with four matches remaining before the Red River Athletic Conference tournament the Celts are tied with Northwood University for fifth place at 5-3 in conference play.

UST is 5-6-1 overall and has won five of six beginning with a 2-0 stunner Sept. 29 at Northwood University. The Celts doubled-up on LSU-Shreveport two days later by a 4-2 count.

First-place Huston-Tillotson slipped past the Celts 2-1 in double overtime in Austin, but a come-from-behind, 2-1 triumph against Southwestern Assemblies of God kicked off their current three-game winning streak.

The Celts returned home last week and put together a 5-1 win against Southwest (N.M.) and played to a strong win against Texas Wesleyan University.

Next up the Celts are back at Houston Amateur Sports Park to face Texas College at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 and Bacone College at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. Both are RRAC games.
