“We enjoy helping out at move-in,” Head Coach Mike Ricks said. “It’s a great chance for us to get to know some of the new students on campus and to help them make the transition a bit easier. I don’t think anybody likes moving too much, so we want to try to make it as painless as possible.”

The Celts continued their service work by joining the freshman class at the Houston Food Bank on Aug. 18. They were a part of the most productive group to volunteer in the Food Bank's history, making 50,000 meals.

“It was great to see so many of us come together for a good cause,” said sophomore post Annie Nemmer.

The Celts would like to continue engaging in service-learning projects as the year progresses.

“We plan on being very active, both on and off campus, this year,” Ricks said. “We want our program to be about more than just basketball.”
