UST Lebanese Student Association Hosts Cultural Concert

Photo: Mexican-Ecuadorian Cultural ConcertHabib Chamoun-Farah, a Kingwood resident, UST student and president of the UST Lebanese Student Association, organized a “Sounds of Lebanon” Mexican-Ecuadorian cultural concert with world renowned artists Mexican Pianist Mauricio Nader and Ecuadorian Violinist Jorge Saade on Sunday, April 2 on the UST campus.

Andrea Gomez, anchor and reporter from Univision 45 KXLN, served as the Master of Ceremonies. The concert was dedicated to Violinist Jorge Saade’s mentor and family friend Thomas D. Moore who passed away in February 2011.

Chamoun-Farah’s vision was to organize the Concert “Sounds of Lebanon” to promote the beautiful Lebanese culture and history.

In attendance and supporting the concert were Council Generals of Mexico in Houston, Dr. Luis Malpica y de Lamadrid, Ecuador Frank Vargas and Honorary Consul of Lebanon Amil Bohsali. This event was co-sponsored by the Cameron School of Business, LSA, and The World Lebanese Cultural Union.
