Jessica Domann Named Athletics’ Senior Woman Administrator
6/28/2011
The University of St. Thomas has appointed Jessica Domann as the Athletics’ Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Domann, who has worked at UST since 2008, will continue her duties as the Director of Recreational Sports as she takes on additional responsibilities as of July 1.

“We are extremely excited to have Jessica officially join the St Thomas Athletic family,” UST Athletic Director Todd Smith. “With the growth of the department and the number of student-athletes on campus it is imperative we are prepared to provide the resources necessary for student-athlete success. Jessica’s insight to our department and the athletes we serve will be a great addition to the department.”

As the SWA, Domann will work with Athletic Director Todd Smith to ensure compliance with Title IX, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and Red River Athletic Conference rules and regulations that pertain to gender equity. Domann will provide guidance and assistant to all student athletes, including organizing bi-annual workshops. She will support events sponsored by the Athletic Department and assist in the development of Athletic Department policy. She will also conduct exit interviews with all graduating student-athletes.

“I come from a fitness/sports background so I am eager to take on the new challenges with this new position,” Domann said. “Over the last few years, I have enjoyed working closely with the Athletic Department, the coaches and the student-athletes, so I hope it will be a natural transition into this role.”

Domann earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Sports Science from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 and a Master of Science in the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity from Illinois State University in 2007.

Domann was a competitive swimmer for twelve years in her home state of Oklahoma. She was a distance swimmer that excelled in the 500 yard, 1000 yard and mile races that ultimately resulted in an invitation to compete in the Oklahoma All-State Competition. Domann currently trains with the Rice University U.S. Masters Swim Team.
