Boone-Rodgers Named Honorable Mention All-RRAC

Hershiira "Shorty" Boone-Rodgers, a guard on the University of St.Graphic: Lion Thomas women's basketball team, was selected to the Honorable Mention Team for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Red River Athletic Conference. In the team's inaugural season, Boone-Rodgers, at 5 feet 2 inches, paced the Celts with averages of 11.9 points and three assists per game.

“Shorty was a consistent competitor for us this season,” Head Coach Mike Ricks said. “She is very deserving of this honor.”

Boone-Rodgers transferred to UST from Cisco Junior College, where she averaged 10 points and 2 rebounds per game, earning Second-Team All-Conference. She was also runner-up to the Conference Freshmen of the Year. Her major is communications.

The University of St. Thomas women’s basketball team completed its inaugural season with a 8-22 record. It was the Lady Celts first year in the Red River Athletic Conference, in which they finished 5-19.
