UST ‘Shines’ in New TV Ads, Microsite

Meg McDonaldTo raise awareness about the University of St. Thomas and its mission to educate leaders of faith and character, the University launched the campaign, “Shine At UST.” The campaign will feature TV spots, advertising on KUHF radio’s NPR drive-time news programs, a photography contest and a new microsite with student and graduate success stories.

A series of three TV advertisements pair images of students and alumni: At the University of St. Thomas, we educate them here, so they shine in their professions.

Tom StandishThe spots will air weekly on Sunday morning news shows during the 9 a.m. hour, starting Sept. 9 on KHOU Channel 11’s “Face the Nation.” Also look for the UST advertisements on “Meet the Press.” Beginning Sept. 3, UST will have spots on FOX News Channel’s cable shows, “Hannity” and “The O'Reilly Factor.”
On the radio, UST will have live read advertisements on KUHF 88.7 FM radio’s NPR drive-time news programs and on the station’s classical-format sister channel KUHA 91.7 FM.

Sally AceboUST will launch its first Photography Contest on Sept. 8. The free contest celebrates the art and architecture of the University, as well as campus life and faith. It is open to the general public, students, faculty and staff, with professional and amateur divisions. The contest runs Sept. 8-Oct. 20, and the grand prize is $1,500.

The campaign, timed to coincide with groundwork for the upcoming Performing Arts Center and Health Science Center, will help Houstonians learn the benefits that graduates bring to the larger communities where they live, work, worship and play. When asked “Who educates leaders of faith and character?” UST wants more people to know the answer: “The University of St. Thomas.”
