Dr. Robert Ivany
Dr. Robert Ivany became the eighth president of the University of St. Thomas in 2004. Prior to his retirement from the Army with the rank of Major General, Ivany presided over one of the nation’s most respected institutions for the education of strategic leaders: the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa. Ivany also served in a number of unique positions including the Army Aide to the President of the United States from 1984-1986 and assistant professor of history and football coach at the Military Academy at West Point.
Ivany serves on the Board of Directors for the International Council of the Universities of St. Thomas Aquinas, Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas, Greater Houston Partnership, Sam Houston Area Council-Boy Scouts of America and The Health Museum, and as Immediate Past Chairman of Mental Health America of Greater Houston.
Ivany has received the Ellis Island Medal of Freedom, the Humanitarian Medal from the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Association, the Americanism Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution, the George Washington Award for Distinguished Service from the Sons of the American Revolution, the Director’s Award from the U.S. Secret Service, the Admiral Thomas J. Hamilton Award for Leadership and, together with his spouse, the Aaron and Hur Award from the United States Army Chaplaincy.
He can speak on Ronald Reagan, leadership lessons from the U.S. Army, future expansion for UST, Catholic higher education, developing future leaders in corporations and not for profits, and the "Faith in Our Future" capital campaign.

Dr. Dominic A. Aquila
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dr. Dominic Aquila has 32 years of experience in public and private higher education. Aquila is also a Trustee of the American Academy of Liberal Education, the Crossroads Cultural Center, a member of the Council of Independent Colleges Chief Academic Officer and Chief Financial Office Task Force, and the Children at Risk Institute.
His areas of research and expertise include music and culture, Catholicism and American culture, and higher education administration. He can also speak on American and European History.

James M. Booth
Vice President for Finance
James M. Booth is the chief financial officer of the University. His responsibilities also include overseeing Facilities Operations. Before coming to the University, Booth worked in public accounting and the financial management area at a publicly traded company. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of several professional organizations including the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

Cynthia Colbert Riley
Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Cynthia Colbert Riley leads the University’s fundraising and alumni relations efforts. She has more than 24 years of experience in institutional leadership in healthcare, higher education and public broadcasting institutions. She served for five years as the capital campaign coordinator during the University’s first modern capital campaign in the 1990s.
Most recently, Riley served as the interim executive director and vice president for development at The Methodist Hospital Foundation in Houston. There, she led fundraising efforts for The Methodist Hospital System, including organizing the hospital’s first strategic fundraising campaign and supporting the planning and development of its ongoing capital campaign. Riley also worked as the senior director of development at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine. Riley was named the 2013 recipient of the Outstanding Fundraising Professional award, given by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Houston Chapter. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has previously served on the Greater Houston Chapter Board of Directors.

Vice President for Planning and Technology and Special Assistant to the President
Gary McCormack joined University of St. Thomas in March of 1999 as the vice president for Information Technology. He assumed additional responsibilities as special assistant to the president in April 2005. In July 2011, he became vice president for Planning and Technology. Over his 36-year career in higher education, McCormack has held a variety of administrative roles. McCormack has lived in the Houston area since 1975.

Vice President for Marketing Communications and Enrollment Management
Vickie Alleman brings a strategic approach to the University by integrating marketing and enrollment management. Alleman's experience in the integration of sales and marketing was in the healthcare field, specifically hospitals, medical device companies and physician practices. She has won local, regional and national awards for ad campaigns and collaterals. Alleman is a board member of the American Marketing Association - Houston and has served on the Board of Directors. She authored the book "Business Therapy for Doctors" in 2004.

Vice President for Student Affairs
Patricia McKinley is responsible for the non-academic student experience at University of St. Thomas. McKinley came to the University in 1992 as the associate director of Counseling, Testing and Career Services. In 1998, she was promoted to director of the Career Services and Testing Center and, in 2006, became the dean of students.
Previously, McKinley served as the counselor for the Women in Transition Program at Houston Community College providing career and personal counseling and academic advising to re-entry college women. She has also taught American and world history in public high schools. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds public education certifications in counseling and social studies.
