The experiment is part of Dr. Bill Tinnerman’s organic chemistry lab, which requires students to prepare a wine alcohol from their own recipe and write a term paper on the chemistry involved in the preparation of wine. It is a way to show students how science is part of daily life.

UST Names Winners of UST/Archdiocesan Essay ContestStudents, parents and teachers from Catholic schools in the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese gathered for the eighth annual University of St. Thomas/Archdiocesan Essay Contest Awards Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 3 at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. More than 500 people from 47 schools attended the events, which included a prayer service led by the Most. Rev. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo and a reception at the Cathedral Centre.
