About the Center
About the Center for International Studies
Solomon Medina and Kate DIllonThe Center for International Studies (CIS) at the University of St. Thomas houses the International Studies, International Development, geography, Social Entrepreneurship and Study Abroad programs. Students may complete a major or minor in international studies, or a joint major with business administration, economics, Catholic studies, communication, economics, environmental studies, political science or modern and classical languages including Spanish. The CIS program allows individuals to tailor their studies to personal interests and career objectives.

Students are prepared for careers in international business, law, politics, public service and teaching through a study of international relations, cultural differences and the benefits of cooperation within the human family. The faculty members strive to provide students with comprehensive courses that integrate a study of international culture, politics, economics and social conditions with the University’s liberal arts curriculum and dedication to the values of Catholic higher education and the Basilian tradition.

To learn more about careers and jobs in international studies, please view our Guidebook for Employment and Employers.

In cooperation with other academic or public affairs organizations, CIS sponsors events and seminars, conferences, symposia and programs on scholarly or current issues in the international field.
