    Kelleher named in Irish 40 under 40
    Edward Kelleher, visiting scholar for the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies, will join 39 other men and women honored in this year’s Irish Echo’s annual Irish Top 40 under 40 awards. The award is a celebration of Irish and Irish Americans who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields of work before reaching the age of 40. 

    University of St. Thomas Irish Gala Raises Over $380,000
    More than 400 friends of the University of St. Thomas William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies attended the annual Irish Gala on Nov. 14 at The Houstonian Hotel in honor of Michele Malloy. The Gala was chaired by three friends of the honoree – Maureen Evans, Margo P. Geddie and Lisa Miranda. His Eminence Daniel N. Cardinal DiNardo of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston was the honorary chair of the Gala.

    Irish Studies Program Named Top Irish Studies Program
    Once again, the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies at the University of St. Thomas was named one of the top Irish Studies programs in North America by Irish Central, an online newspaper affiliated with the Irish America magazine and the Irish Voice newspaper.

    The William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Houston is the only Irish Studies academic program in the Southwest. The Center serves as a focal point for the study and appreciation of Irish and Northern Irish history, literature, politics, law, language, music, art, drama, culture and society.
