Students seeking a master’s degree in education (M.Ed.) have two choices:

  • A complete online M.Ed.
  • A hybrid master’s degree that combines online classes with traditional face-to-face classes

The degree specialties that will be offered online are:  

  • Counselor Education
  • Educational Leadership
  • Special Education
  • Dual Language Instruction
  • Curriculum and Instruction
  • Generalist

NOTE: Scholarships are available for Education Leadership, Special Education or Bilingual/Dual Language.

M.Ed. Requirements

General requirements for the Master of Education degree include 36 credit hours of graduate level courses, and a minimum of two years of field experience.

All degree plans must include three specific core courses (9 credit hours) designed to provide the academic foundations necessary for interpretation and application of educational research (EDUC 6326, 6327, 5303).
