In addition to University scholarships and federal financial aid, UST encourages students to pursue outside scholarship opportunities. Please keep in mind that you should never have to send an application fee when applying for a scholarship.

Once awarded, outside scholarship funds are mailed to our office and posted to your student account. When you have been awarded an outside scholarship, communication with our office is important. Please have your outside scholarship donors mail the scholarship check(s) made payable to the University of St. Thomas (along with any correspondence) to:

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.

Scholarship Deadline   -  June 10, 2016.

ABC Humane Wildlife Academic Scholarship

One (1) award of $1,000 will be granted to the top essay submitted, and up to nine other students may receive awards for their submissions. Funds may be used for tuition, academic projects, medical expenses, housing, living expenses, transportation, or other education-related costs. In addition to your essay, please send proof of enrollment and one letter to serve as an academic reference. Deadline: June 26, 2016

Advertising Education Foundation of Houston Scholarship

AEFH awards scholarships to college sophomores, juniors and seniors pursuing undergraduate or post graduate degrees in advertising, communications, interactive marketing, journalism, radio/TV, commercial art, public relations or related fields.  To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must submit a completed on-line application, unofficial transcripts, and letter/(s) of recommendations on or before the deadline in 2016.  For more information click here.
 

Apartment List Scholarship

Church Hill Classics Frame My Future Scholarship

Unlike most of the traditional scholarships, there are no essays to write, no grade or academic requirements—it is all about creativity. Students are challenged to create a visual entry, whether it is a photograph, collage, painting, illustration, poem, short story—any single piece that demonstrates what he/she would like to do in their personal and professional life after college. Graduate Programs Foundation

JUNIORS & SENIORS:  Graduate Programs will award $1,000 scholarships to pre-grad students who are current undergraduates (Juniors and Seniors) in an accredited institution who are thinking of applying to Grad school, or are recent college graduates who are thinking about going to Grad school. In order to apply, the student must provide some basic information and a “Statement of Purpose.”

Award: $1,000/quarterly

Grasshopper Entrepreneur Scholarship

Grasshopper will award one (1) $5,000 scholarship for the best submitted entry determined by our judges. The scholarship will be awarded in check form, made payable directly to the university that the winner is, or will be, attending for a school term in 2016.

Healthcare and Nursing Education Foundation

The purpose of the Healthcare & Nursing Education Foundation Scholarship Program is to provide academic financial assistance to individuals who demonstrate the desire and ability to pursue a professional nursing career in the Greater Houston community and who have demonstrated financial need.  Scholarships are awarded to support studies toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or advanced nursing degrees and are based on academics, leadership ability, community involvement, financial need, and commitment to pursuing a nursing career. Students selected may be awarded from $2,000 to $2,500 per semester to be used for tuition, fees and books while attending Houston area colleges and universities.

Hellenic Professional Society of Texas

Each year the Society awards scholarships to qualified undergraduate and graduate full-time students. Applicants are eligible for a scholarship if they are currently attending or have been accepted by a college or university in Texas, have shown excellent scholastic performance in their corresponding field of study and are of Hellenic heritage. The Society also accepts applications from students of non-Greek descent that have demonstrated clear, strong and sustained excellence in academic studies related to Greek letters or affairs.

Honeywell Scholarship 

The Horatio Alger Association is pleased to announce that its Honeywell scholarship program for students studying in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) at both Honeywell partner schools and Horatio Alger Collegiate Partner institutions is once again available.  We will be awarding 10 scholarships at $10,000 each to students pursuing STEM degrees who have critical financial need ($55,000 or less family income) and who are current freshmen who have successfully completed their first fall semester. Houston Counseling Association Scholarship Award

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Counseling Certification Program
  • Have completed 12 or more hours toward counselor certification
  • Have a 3.0 or better GPA in the counseling certification courses

LeafFilter Racing/Blake Koch Undergraduate Scholarship

NASCAR driver, Blake Koch and the rest of the team at LeafFilter Racing are pleased to announce our first ever college scholarship. Students who will be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in the fall of 2016 are highly encouraged to write an original essay and apply. We are excited to offer our very own scholarship this fall. The LendEDU Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship award. Our scholarship can be used to cover any and all costs related to your education. The LendEDU Scholarship can be used to cover tuition, textbooks, room and board, and even living expenses. Martin Law Office, S.C. Scholarship

For this scholarship of $500, we ask you to submit an essay of at least 400 words, but no more than 600, describing something you have done in the past year that has made a difference in your community. The due date for this scholarship is June 30, 2016; our firm will carefully read all submissions and will notify the recipient of The 2015 Martin Law Office, S.C. Medals of America Scholarship

At Medals of America, we strongly believe in education, and we are committed to providing resources so everyone has a chance to advance their education. Because of our commitment, we are delighted to provide assistance through our Civil Service/Political Science/ History Scholarship for active duty and veteran students continuing their education. Upon the contest’s completion, one applicant will be selected as recipients of a scholarship of $1,000.

All we need from you is a 600-word essay sharing what you’d do with an extra 100 square feet of space in your dorm room.

Nursing Education Scholarship

The Nursing Education Scholarship is offered to qualified applicants who are entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine.  Interested applicants must submit a 500-1000 word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field. Applications will be reviewed by the editorial staff at TravelNursing.org and selected annually on June 17th. Applications for this year’s award are due before May 17th, 2016. The Sleeklens Academic Scholarship Program

U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship Program

A program of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers intensive summer language institutes in thirteen critical foreign languages. The selection process is administered by American Councils for International Education with awards approved by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Varsity Tutors College Scholarship Contest

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. The Verbal Ink Transcription Services Scholarship

Each year, the Verbal Ink Transcription Services Scholarship awards a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior or current college freshman. The scholarship will be renewable each year for up to four years, provided that the award recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA or equivalent and completes the minimum number of credit hours required to be a full-time student each academic year.

 

Zeno Property Management Jobs Scholarships

Jobs is pleased to support students in their quest to better their lives through higher education with the launch of their annual David Zeno Founders’ Scholarship.
