Transfer Admissions Requirements
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (on 4.0 scale).
- If less than 24 credit hours at the time of application:
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher from all colleges/universities previously attended.
- High school GPA 2.80 (on 4.0 scale) or higher.
Standardized Test Scores: Students must submit at least one of the following:
- SAT: Math and Critical Reading scores must equal a minimum of 1070, with a minimum score of 500 on both Math and Critical Reading. (UST's school code for SAT is 6880).
ACT: composite score of 23 or higher, with a minimum score of 19 on both Math and English. (UST’s school code for ACT is 4238).
You must be eligible to return to the last institution attended.
Transfer Course Equivalency Guide
Many of UST's core requirements can be taken at other institutions. The Course Equivalency Guide for Texas Community College provides parallels that can be taken at two-year colleges. No course with a grade lower than "C" (GPA 2.0) will be accepted for transfer. UST will accept up to 72 hours from two-year colleges.
Transfer Credit Evaluation Guidelines
Many of UST's core requirements can be taken at other institutions. The Course Equivalency Guide for Texas Community College provides parallels that can be taken at two-year colleges.
- No course with a grade lower than "C" (GPA 2.0) will be accepted for transfer.
- UST will accept up to 72 hours from two-year colleges or 90 from four-year institutions.
- A maximum of 90 transferable credit hours may be applied to your degree plan
- Students must take 36 hours in residence at UST unless academic committee grants exception.
- UST does not accept the following for course credit:
- Vocational or occupational training.
- Developmental/Remedial study skill course.
- Courses from a college/university that does not have regional accreditation.
- A completed application for admission (application for admission also serves as scholarship application).
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended.
- If you have completed less than 24 credit hours at the time of application, an official high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores will also be required.
- A copy of an alien registration card (Green Card) made by an admissions representative if the applicant is a resident alien.
- Non-U.S. Citizen: Additional paperwork is required. Please contact your UST transfer counselor.
- Unless an associate degree has been earned, transfer students with fewer than 63 credits who seek financial aid may be required to provide an official high school transcript to establish eligibility for federal financial aid programs.
Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics
The University of St. Thomas publishes specified information on campus crime statistics and security policies, available to current and prospective students and employees, in compliance with the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)).
