UST Introduces Men’s Intercollegiate Basketball Team
 The University of St. Thomas is currently developing a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men’s Basketball team, set to take the court for the first time in the 2009-2010 school year. As part of the recruitment efforts, academic and athletic financial packages will be available. The team will be coached by UST Athletic Director Todd Smith. Smith served as an assistant basketball coach at Rice University from 1989 to 2007.
UST’s Men’s Basketball program will host a tryout open to 2009 high school seniors and all other high school graduates with remaining NAIA eligibility. Players must bring a copy of high school transcripts and test scores (if they are not included on transcript). UST athletic staff will answer and evaluate student eligibility questions prior to tryouts. Athletes should come ready to play in workout gear. The tryout is free and will end
