Conditional Admission Required Documents:

    1. Submit Either unofficial or official transcripts
    2. Schedule Interview with Program Director

Regular Admission Additional Documents:

  1. Option A - 2.75 GPA in last 60 hours or overall
    1. Official Transcript,
    2. Two recommendations to academic ability, character, and professionalism, and
    3. GRE or MAT scores that meet our admission standards
  2. Option B - 3.0 GPA in last 60 hours or overall
    1. Official transcripts,
    2. Two recommendations to academic ability, character, and professionalism, and
    3. UST Transcript documenting GPA of 3.5 in first 12 hours, including at least one core course (EDUC 5301, EDUC 5302 or EDUC 5303) course or a course designated by the program advisor.
  3. Option C – 3.25 GPA in last 60 hours or overall
    1. Official transcripts, and
    2. Two recommendations to academic ability, character, and professionalism
  4. Option D – 3.0 GPA in an advanced degree
    1. Official transcripts, and
    2. Two recommendations to academic ability, character, and professionalism

Register for the General Test (verbal, quantitative and analytical writing sections are required)

  • Computer Based Test (CBT) on line at www.ets.org/gre (credit card only) or Call the Testing Center.  CBT Test is taken by appointment at a Testing Center.
  • Paper Based Test Follow bulletin directions (only given twice a year).  Bulletins are available in the School of Education or online at the GRE website.

Currently, more than 500 Controlled Testing Centers (CTCs) in the United States, Canada, and overseas administer the MAT. The locations and phone numbers of all the current CTCs are listed on the MAT website.

Once you determine where you wish to take the MAT, contact that CTC directly for all pertinent testing information, including: Testing fees, Testing schedules, Application procedures and Test administration procedures
