F-1 Visa Holders Residing Outside of the U.S.
If you have been admitted to the University of St. Thomas, you will receive email notification from our office regarding the immigration documents we need to collect in order to issue you an I-20. This email notification will include more details, but the list is identical for undergraduate and graduate students:
- F-1 Undergraduate/Graduate Information Form
- Copy of Passport’s Biographical Information
- Affidavit of Support
- Bank Statement (an original document and less than six months old)
- Health Insurance Compliance Form
You may send these original documents through post/courier to:
University of St. Thomas
3800 Montrose Blvd, Box 136
Houston, TX 77006
After we receive your original documents, we will be able to issue you an I-20. It is imperative that you review and sign your I-20 to validate it. If there are any errors, please contact OISSS immediately. You will be required to present this document with your UST admission letter to the visa issuing officer, in addition to other documentation requested by the consulate. These requirements vary from country to country, so you may visit usembassy.gov for further information. |

Once your file is complete and we have received your SEVIS record from your current school, we will be able to issue you a UST I-20. The following illustrates what the process would be if you are transferring to St. Thomas.
If you plan to leave the U.S. and are a transfer student, we strongly advise that you travel with a UST I-20. Please see an international student advisor if you have any questions or concerns. |
