After You Are Accepted
Overseas students applying for F-1 visas:
After you have been accepted and the International Office has mailed your SEVIS I-20, you should begin the process of applying for your student visa by contacting the US embassy in your home country. Specific information on how to prepare for your visa interview will be included with your I-20. It is your responsibility to make your visa appointment.
NOTE: The University’s letter of admission and issuance of an I-20 may not always influence the final decision taken at the US Embassy.
F-1 Transfer students:
After you have received a definite letter of acceptance, ensure that your I-20 record has been released to us by your previous school. This must happen in order for you to receive a new I-20 from UST.
NOTE: You must complete both the requirements for admission as well as ALL the appropriate Immigration forms in order to be fully accepted at the UST and to begin taking classes. Even if you have received a letter of academic acceptance, you MUST comply with all the transfer procedures in order to legally begin taking classes at UST and transfer successfully as an F-1 student. |
