Transfer Scholarships
Transfer students entering UST for the fall semester will be automatically considered for a scholarship. For an estimate, please use our Net Price Calculator. For more information about the scholarship awarding process, please contact the Office of Admissions at (713) 525-3500 or admissions@stthom.edu.
Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.

Monaghan Transfer Scholarship
All UST transfer students entering in the fall semester will be automatically considered for the Monaghan Transfer Scholarships, if their transfer G.P.A. is 3.0 or higher. Monaghan Transfer Scholarship awards range from $4,000 to $10,000 per academic year and begin in the fall semester. Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
Transfer Scholarship Eligibility
- Completed at least 16 transferable credit hours from U.S. college/university
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 and greater

Priority Deadline
Spring Applicants: November 1st
Fall Applicants: April 15th
Celt Transfer Award
Transfer students entering for the fall semester are eligible to receive a Celt Transfer Award, valued at $2000 per year, if their transfer G.P.A. is between 2.50-2.99. Recipients of the Celt Transfer Award must maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship
Transfer students entering for the fall semester who are PTK members will be eligible for a $4000 scholarship. PTK Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.

S-STEM Scholarship
General Overview of the S2 Program
UST has been awarded an S-STEM grant from the National Science Foundation which provides funds for student support in the form of scholarships to students majoring in a STEM discipline*
- biology
- bioinformatics
- biochemistry
- chemistry
- environmental science
- mathematics
- cooperative engineering program
* Students interested in any pre-health program are not eligible.
- Approximately 10 scholarships with an average award amount of $4,000 will be given to talented transfer students each year over the 5-year funding period. This award will not impact previously awarded scholarships, but may alter the qualifying amount for student loans.
- Scholarship recipients will be evaluated each semester for eligibility. All students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and remain a STEM major or be enrolled in required STEM courses. Any change in GPA or major status will result in the loss of the STEM scholarship.
Transfer Students Eligibility
- Must have completed 12 – 60 transferrable hours with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must have completed all attempted STEM courses with a grade of C or higher
- Must declare STEM major
- Flexible criteria (professionalism, maturity, motivation, ability to manage time and communication skills) will all be considered
How to Apply for a S-STEM Scholarship
- Complete Application: Download
- Have two letters of recommendation from instructors sent to sstem@stthom.edu At least one letter must be from a science or mathematics instructor.
- Provide a personal statement commenting on your career goals, education plan and the reason you are majoring in a STEM discipline, maximum length is 400 words.
- Fill out the FAFSA form (fafsa.ed.gov). UST Code 003654
- Submit Copy of Transcripts: The Office of Admission can submit copies upon request, Ask your Admission counselor for more information.

Financial Aid
At UST we encourage all applicants to apply for financial aid by completing a FAFSA application at http://www.fafsa.gov/ (Please include UST's school code, 003654.) In order for UST's Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to process your FAFSA information, you must be formally admitted to UST. For more information on your status contact your Admission Counselor. |
