Athletic Camps

Celts Sports Camps provide opportunities for athletes of all ages to develop their skills in a fun, sportsmanlike environment. In addition to fundamental instruction, campers will be exposed to sport-specific strategies. Our goal is to challenge athletes and promote individual improvement that leads to athletic success. Music Camps

Music CampsOur faculty members are professional musicians and instructors with extensive experience teaching in summer music programs, workshops and private settings. Our top ranked summer music program allows students to participate in daily classes, ensemble and student performances and concerts. Camps are designed for students who will be in grades 3 – 12 this fall.

Mock Trial Camp

The 2017 camp will run July 13-16 on the UST campus. Open to high school students in the Greater Houston Area, participants learn technique by working with experienced, winning mock trial students from UST. The UST mock trial team is among the best in the region, having advanced to the American Mock Trial Association’s Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS) in Memphis five times in 10 years.

Art Camp (drawing, painting and collage)

The 2017 camp will run July 10-14 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on the UST campus. There will be five (5) 3-hour classes over 1 week. Open to students in grades 6-8 across the Greater Houston Area at a cost of $155 per student if enrolled and paid before May 31 ($175 after May 31).

Discover the art of expression and the skill of art. Students will be introduced to the eight elements of art as tools to develop ideas, stories and symbolism. Working from observation and imagination, students will experiment with mixing colors and creating compositions using drawing tools, acrylic paint and collage to develop art-making skills. Students will also be introduced to several genres and influential artist as inspiration for their own work.

Sewing Camp

The 2017 camp will run July 17-21 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on the UST campus. There will be five (5) 3-hour classes over 1 week. Open to ages 10+ throughout the Greater Houston Area at a cost of $145 per student if enrolled and paid before May 31 ($165 after May 31). Materials not provided.

Sewing is a fun and handy skill to learn. In this 5-day camp we will introduce students to the joys of sewing, begin with the basics of machine sewing skills and move on to creating a simple garment. The small class will allow individual attention to each student's paces. The goal of this camp is to give students a well-rounded foundation of sewing so they can continue their own projects at home.

Acting/Drama Camp

The 2017 camp will run June 19-30 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on the UST campus. Open to high school students throughout the Greater Houston Area. Fees are as follows:

• Participant (two weeks) - $125
• Non-participant (two weeks)- $50
• Non-participant (daily)- $20

Influenced by the Stanislavski system, this class will help you move from the chorus into a principle role. Acting will be explored through exercises, improvisations, scenes, monologues, lectures and discussion. You will learn the necessary techniques to prepare for a rehearsal and performance, gaining skills relevant for stage, film, television, classical theatre or musical theatre.
