Sport Clubs
Cheerleaders with Lenny the LionThe University of St. Thomas Sport Clubs Association provides a number of opportunities for individual and team competition on a range of levels while upholding the university’s mission and promoting its core values of goodness, discipline, knowledge and community.

Fencing Club

  • Coed club for beginners through competitive level, including tournaments
  • Practice in the Jerabeck Dance Room
  • No experience required; beginning equipment provided

Martial Arts Club (MAC)

  • Classes and seminars in self-defense and crime prevention
  • Coed club promotes the history and styles of martial arts
  • Traditional Japanese Ju-jitsu classes are off campus
  • All styles and experience levels welcome

Men’s Rugby Club

  • Texas Rugby Union Men’s Division III competes statewide, including playoffs
  • Practice on Mondays and Wednesdays 5-7 p.m. at the Hackett Athletic Complex

Coed Soccer Club

  • League includes local coed teams
  • Practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-7 p.m. at the Hackett Athletic Complex
  • All skill levels are welcome

Cheerleading Club

  • Coed club promotes and upholds school spirit across all sports and teams
  • Practice on Tuesdays 12:30-2 p.m. and Thursdays 7:30-9 a.m.
  • All experience and skill levels are welcome to attend tryouts

Tennis Club

  • Competes in tournaments throughout Texas
  • Coed club; beginners welcome; experience required for tournament play

Surfing Club (USTSC)

  • Coed club for beginners as well as qualifying amateur surfers
  • Competes in Texas Gulf Surfing Association (TGSA) events
  • Active advocates for beach access and coastal environment protection

Ultimate Frisbee Club

  • Coed club; currently holds pickup games on the Campus Life Mall
  • Searching for teams to compete against
  • Everyone welcome regardless of experience

Running Club

  • Coed club teaches new runners proper technique, training principles and safety
  • Meets for weekly runs
  • Competes throughout the state at various races

Table Tennis Club

  • Coed club is open to all skill levels with competition in the NCTTA within the state of Texas and nationally
  • Practice many times a week in Jerabeck Center lobby
  • Interested parties should stop by

Bike Club

  • Coed club is open to all skill levels of road and mountain biking
  • Meets for weekly rides
