Augustine Experience
The Augustine Hall Living Learning Community focuses on the integration of Faith, Academics, and Life. |
Academics
In the fall semester students register for a paired course (Philosophy of the Human Person / Teachings of the Church); the spring semester course is Mapping the Catholic Cultural Landscape — a multi-disciplinary introduction to the Catholic intellectual tradition. |
Community Life
Augustine Hall houses up to 22 residents, 2 RAs, and 4 Peer Mentors. There is a focus on building a strong and supportive community.
On Thursday nights, residents of Augustine Hall share a community meal, discuss issues pertinent to their college life, and celebrate Mass together. Each week a different apartment is responsible for preparing the meal for the community. |
The Service
Each semester residents of Augustine Hall have 15 hours of required community service. Some of the service projects we do are: Catholic Charities' Children and Family Services, Immigration and Refugee Services, and Advocacy; St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores, tutoring, and child care; UST Campus Ministry retreats, campus events, bible studies.
