Policies
The 2009-2010 Student Handbook outlines the policies, procedures, and resources that have been established to promote a positive community Campus & Student Life atmosphere. Thus, this document, which is included in the last section of our printed 2009-2010 Student Planner & Handbook, is crucial information for you. By promoting a positive atmosphere, these community standards enhance your academic and co-curricular success, as well as the success of your fellow students. The office of the Vice President for Student Affairs is charged with maintaining these community standards, which are grounded in our institution’s core values and Catholic mission.
Whether you are a new or returning student, live on campus or commute, or are an undergraduate or graduate, UST is your campus! Please do your part to contribute to our community in a positive way.
Your University of St. Thomas Photo ID Card is the most valuable form of identification that you will need during your career here. Whether you are a member of our faculty, staff or student body, a UST ID card is essential and should be carried on your person at all times. Individuals are entitled to only one ID card at a time.
While this card serves as a form of identification, it also carries privileges that give the card holder access to various services and facilities on campus such as meal plans, and library and parking garage access, as well as off-campus privileges such as student movie discounts.
It is important that your UST ID card be handled with care and kept in a safe place when not in use. For daily use, the Office of Student Affairs offers lanyards and two-sided clear protectors for just $2.00. This is a great way to make sure your card is handled carefully throughout the day. In the event your card is lost or stolen, you should report the incident to the Office of Student Affairs (713-525-3570) as soon as possible and apply for a replacement card. Cards that are found should be turned in to the Office of Security, Lost & Found, located on the first floor of the Moran parking garage.
For new or replacement cards, visit the Office of Student Affairs in Crooker Center at 3909 Graustark Street. While this office only accepts cash or checks, you may pay by credit card at the Business Office located in the Herzstein Enrollment Center at 4115 Yoakum Street. Simply bring your receipt to the Office of Student Affairs as proof of payment and a replacement card will be issued.
