|The Office of Health Promotion and Wellness follows our goal to promote a holistic approach to student health by increasing awareness and providing resources. We distribute educational and preventative literature and host events in collaboration with other on-campus departments in addition to community organizations.
Dig Pink Volleyball Game
Partnering with the UST Women’s Volleyball Team, every October we raise awareness and donations for breast cancer awareness. All proceeds go to the Side-Out Foundation.
Celts for Blue Cure Event
Each February, the UST Men’s Basketball Team partners with The Blue Cure Foundation, founded by UST alum Gabe Canales, to raise awareness for prostate cancer. This event has led to other outreach programs including spreading the message to young men through basketball and Meatless Mondays.
Be The Match
UST’s Women’s Basketball Team and Be The Match host a campus drive to sign people up for the bone marrow registry. This drive has exceeded expectations by surpassing the team’s very high goal of 50 registrants by signing up 64 people in one day!
College students have the nutrition obstacles of crazy schedules, unhealthy food options, being on their own for the first time and tight budgets that make it even more challenging to make healthy choices. We want to bring more awareness and healthy food options to the UST campus to remind our community, You are what you eat!
