Cool Points: I have over 40,000 miles behind me on motorcycles, biology research experience at Baylor College of Medicine, organic chemistry research at Rice University (where I won first prize in the undergraduate research poster session last summer!), and I can recite almost every line to the original Toy Story and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze.

Cool Points: I am an adjunct professor of philosophy at UST. I also am a wedding photographer on the side. My biggest pet peeve is the misuse of the phrase "begging the question." When you use it, a question should not follow.

Cool Points: My favorite period of history is the Classical era, specifically the Late Republican and Early Imperial periods of Rome. Marcus Tullius Cicero, Marcus Crassus, Julius Caesar, Cato the Censor, and many other great statesmen come from those periods. The Romans helped lay the foundations of Western Civilization, and it's cool to see how their ideas and actions helped shape our world.

Foundation.  We have also raised almost $10,000 to help refurbish a giant train set for the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital.

Cool Points:  I’m married with one daughter and number two on the way.  I received a scholarship to play football at Edinboro University in Erie, Pennsylvania.  I performed a stand-up comedy routine in December, 2003 at Jr.’s Last Laugh in Erie.  My father was a starting wide receiver for Ohio State in the early 1970s under legendary coach Woody Hayes.  I have published essays in Catholic World Report, Crisis Magazine, Homiletic and Pastoral Review, Social Justice Review, and New Blackfriars Journal. “The Professor Who Knows Our Name” will be published in Schall at Georgetown, a collection of essays by Fr. James Schall, in October, 2013.

Cool Points: I was born in Brazil and lived in Portugal for 12 years. I transferred to the University of St. Thomas in 2012 to play for the soccer team. Playing the guitar at the beach while the sun sets is what I would like to do every day but, unfortunately, is not an easy thing to do in Houston.
