Papal Documents
- Contains various forms of letters, encyclicals, addresses, published as pamphlets.
- Search the Online Catalog using the "Change Collection" button at the bottom of the screen. Select "PAMPHLET COLLECTION".
- These items are shelved at the circulation desk area on the left side
- Early documents are usually collected in book form, and found with other works by that pope—see the online catalog under name of the specific pope
- The Papal Encyclicals and Pronouncements (1903-1981) by Claudia Carlen, provides the text of many encyclicals.
- The Catholic Almanac provides a listing of writings for each pope.
- Encyclicals have both an English and Latin title.
- Current documents may be found on the Vatican Web site
- Library has periodical holdings for: Origins, Pope Speaks, L'Osservatore Romano (Spanish and English), which normally carry writings of the pope
- Church Documents—database program available on the LAN computers in the library
