Joseph Colvin - Honors Junior, Philosophy
Born in Oklahoma, Joseph grew up in Midland, Texas and attended Greenwood High School. His father and grandfather were UST alumni, so coming to St. Thomas was a natural choice for Joseph. “I knew it was a good school so I ended up following my father's path.”
After getting an invitation from Dr. Hall, Joseph interviewed and is now in his third year. “Honors is my favorite class and I am grateful for finally having been given the motivation to read some good books.”
It’s not just good books, though. It’s also “other people ready to read and willing to share their thoughts. Honors provides a bridge that connects all of the major areas of study that UST focuses on.”
Aside from the Honors Program, Joseph is majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Creative Writing. He hopes to enter law school after graduating from UST.
Trivia facts about Joseph – He enjoys music and drawing in his spare time, and as he told me: “I have been grounded from reading." |
