Kayleigh White - Honors Junior, Psychology
Born in Austin, Kayleigh was raised in Houston. She attended Westfield High School before coming to St. Thomas.
How did she come to choose UST? “My mom told me about St. Thomas and forced me to visit UST’s table at a college fair at my high school,” Kayleigh told me. “After attending a preview day, I realized that I really liked UST!”
After hearing about the Honors Program at preview day, “I knew immediately that I wanted to be in it,” she said. “I have enjoyed the experience because I have read books that I may have never read if it were not for the honors program.”
“I also like the structure of the program in general. I enjoy that you not only read great works of both fiction and non-fiction from all periods of time, but that in discussion, the relevance and impact on the world of events and works read are evaluated.”
Kayleigh is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Philosophy. After graduating from UST, Kayleigh hopes to attend graduate school. In the meantime, she’s working as a RA at Guinan, a Psi Chi officer, and a member of the Irish Club.
She’s got a full list of to-do’s in the event that she has some free time, including enjoying music, movies, and hanging out with friends. “I love to read and would like to have a small, respectable library in my house later in life. I love to swim and was on swim team 10 years. I love to play volleyball but can’t play for the University because I don’t have time. I also like various service work.” |
