Susan Karako - Honors Senior, Music & Spanish
 Born and raised in Ennis, Texas, Susan was home-schooled and heard about St. Thomas from a college counselor at the Seton Home Study School. “I was looking for a small, liberal arts, Catholic university with a music major,” explained Susan. “St. Thomas was the best that I found.”
Through her admissions counselor at UST, Susan found out about the Honors Program and liked it. “I like the team-taught classes and the bond that you get with your classmates from being in the same classes every semester together.”
A talented musician, Susan is currently an Honors senior, working on completing her UST degree, with double majors in Music and Spanish. She’s also working as a music teacher and acting as the Assistant Music Director at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. She plans to continue holding both of these positions after graduation, and perhaps for the future, look into graduate school, preferably in Houston.
Her Honors coursework and work responsibilities keep Susan very busy, but she still manages to find time to swim, knit, crochet, and do crafts.
