Armel Gifford - Honors Sophomore
Raised in Houston, Armel attended Alief Elsik High School before coming to St. Thomas. “I applied [to St. Thomas] because it was close to home, and I decided to attend because I heard of its good pre-med program.”
After receiving information about the Honors Program in the mail, Armel found it intriguing and interviewed for a spot. “It broadens my knowledge about literature, history, and the world in general.” She’s now in her second year in the program.
Armel is getting the full UST experience, living on campus in Guinan. After graduating from UST, Armel hopes to gain acceptance to medical school. “I’m not completely sure what field of medicine I want to go into,” she said, “but I do know that I’m fascinated by the brain.” |
