STUDY ABROAD
Incoming Exchange Program Requirements from Partner Universities
Exchange programs are managed by the UST Study Abroad Office and our counterparts in our partner universities. All inquiries and applications must be handled by the Study Abroad Offices in both institutions.

Deadlines to apply for admissions:
Fall - April  1
Spring - October 15
                                                                

The following procedures must be completed.

You may also fax your application to (713)525-3872. Original documents can then be mailed.  Please do not apply online.

  1. Complete the Admissions applications - The fee is not applicable.
  2. Have your university send an official copy of your transcript for advising to Diana Garcia.
  3. Send an official copy of the TOEFL (For Non-English partner universities) or ILETS
  4. SEVIS fee is paid when applying for the J-1 visas (student must pay this when applying for VISA)
  5. Send two (2) photos (passport size)
  6. Send a copy of your passport
  7. Provide Proof of Insurance
  8. Students must advise Diana Garcia and Dr. Hans Stockton of flight information including: Airlines, Date, Flight Number, and Arrival Time
  9. Airport and transportation to UST - Taxi approximately $50.00 to 1303 Sul Ross (Dorm Location) or 4004 Yoakum, Houston, TX 77006 (Study Abroad Office) or 3800 Montrose Blvd (Main UST address)

Visa Information:

Orientation – The dorms open for exchange students:

Fall 2010- August 18 and 19, 2010

Your UST student ID card will be issued upon arrival.

2010-2011 Academic Calendar

Fall 2010

August 23, 2010               First day of class.
September 6, 2010           Labor Day – No classes.
October 11-12, 2010         Mid-semester Break – No classes. 
November 24-27, 2010     Thanksgiving Break – No classes -No dorm available. 
December 6, 2010             Last Day of Class.
December 8-14, 2010        Exams

Must move out of dorm – within 24 hours of last final exam

Spring 2011

January 17, 2011              Martin Luther King Holiday – No classes.
January 18, 2011              First day of classes
March 14-19, 2011            Spring Break – No classes – No dorm available
April 21-23, 2011              Easter Break – No classes – No  dorm available
May 4, 2011                      Last Day of Classes
May 6-12, 2011                 Exams

Must move out of dorm within 24 hours of last final exam.

Please make special note as to holidays where housing will be closed to students. International students must be prepared to stay with friends or at another location.
