Applicants for the All-level certificate must complete Arts and Science courses or their equivalent. Candidates at the graduate level are required to complete nine credit hours of reading in addition to the basic hours of professional education required of all students for initial certification. All-level candidates must complete at least six weeks of student teaching at the elementary level and at least six weeks of student teaching at the secondary level, a one-year supervised internship, teach for one-year with a mentor teacher, or complete two years teaching experience in a TEA approved EC-12 classroom. Student teaching, one year supervised internships, or two year teaching experience must be done at the level and in the content area for which certification is being sought. |
