Applicants for the All-Level Special Education Certificate at the graduate level are required to complete 45 credit hours. Twenty-four of the credit hours must be completed in special education. Required special education courses are:

Candidates for certification must complete at least six credit hours of student teaching (10-12 weeks all day), a one-year supervised internship, teach for one-year with a mentor teacher, or complete two years teaching experience in a TEA approved classroom. Student teaching, one year supervised internships, or two year teaching experience must be done at the level and in the content area for which certification is being sought.
