The Marketing Program is offered by the Department of Management and Marketing, Department Chair: Dr. Barry Wilbratte (Wilbratt@stthom.edu)
Success in marketing requires understanding fundamental concepts, principles, theories, tools and techniques in the areas of product promotion, distribution, and pricing. The
Cameron
School curriculum is designed to provide this knowledge to students and to develop the competencies which will benefit them throughout their careers.
The Department of Management and Marketing prepares undergraduate students to qualify for and excel in careers in management and marketing as well as in other professions where the theory and practice of these disciplines can be applied. The curriculum is grounded in the business core disciplines of economics, accounting, mathematics, and computer information systems. The majors then prepare students with solid business theory and application in business administration and marketing. Programs offered through the department provide a wide choice of advanced courses.
The department offers two majors and two minors in General Business and Marketing. The BBA degrees are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business School and Programs (ACBSP) and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
The course requirements will be determined when a student declares a major or minor in the department. Students are encouraged to consult the department chair or their assigned departmental advisor to determine specific course requirements. Any exceptions to stated major requirements or prerequisites must be approved in writing by the department chair or designated faculty advisor.
Transfer students must complete at least 15 credit hours of business administration courses in their major program in residence.
