The Political Department provides students with an in-depth understanding of government and a firm background in the normative, historical and behavioral facets of the social sciences.

As part of the Political Science major, the department offers concentrations in Public Administration and Public Law & Policy. Students interested in law school preparation should consult the University’s Prelaw Advisor.

Political science majors are expected to maintain a departmental “B” average. The department monitors the progress of both majors and graduates adequately assess the students’ progress in meeting department goals.

Coming Spring 2013 – the department will offer a minor in Public Administration.
