Joseph MikolajThe vision of the Performing Arts Society (PAS) is to provide all students at the University of St. Thomas access to quality performing arts opportunities. Through the Advisory Council, the group strives to accomplish the following:

  • Increase awareness about the performing arts at UST
  • Work to increase scholarship money for students
  • Create a formal connection to local theaters and performing arts organizations
  • Raise funds to build a Performing Arts and Conference Center

Performing Arts Society Conducts 5th Annual Membership Tea

The University of St. Thomas held its annual Performing Arts Society Membership Tea benefiting student scholarships on Oct. 12 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Ed Bosarge, the Chateau Carnarvon. This stunning super mansion, dubbed “Houston’s own Versailles,” provided an elegant and unique venue for the event.

The home is considered a “Neoclassical marvel” with its hand-painted trompe l’oel lattices, marble floors inlaid with precious stones, arched hallways and expansive gardens. While the building is a work of art itself, it also houses an impressive collection of museum-quality art that the provided the perfect setting for the tea and served as a reminder of the beauty and importance of art—both visual and performing.
