Foundations Relations
The University of St. Thomas is a dynamic institution with a growing faculty and student body and a campus that has undergone vast improvements since 2001. Foundation giving has made much of the University’s growth possible by providing funding for various initiatives.
- Academic Programs
 The Dunn Foundation has modernized our science labs for our outstanding premed students. The Foundation announced a major grant of $550,000 to equip and renovate the University’s science labs.
“The gift is a breakthrough for St. Thomas,” said campaign chair Liz Ghrist, because the Dunn Research Foundation is one of Houston’s major medical foundations. I believe the Dunn support will encourage similar foundations in Houston and elsewhere to make contributions.
“We have a lot of charities to pick from, and we try to pick the best,” said Lloyd J. Gregory, Jr. MD, executive vice president and medical advisor for the Dunn Foundation. “These upgrades will ensure that St. Thomas students have access to current scientific equipment and are prepared for medical school or scientific careers,’ said Gregory.
- Capital Improvements
 New and up-to-date facilities are essential to the provision of excellent education. Over the last few years, generous benefactors have made gifts that have transformed the neighborhood campus into a magnificent academic village. The long range master plan provides for completion of the campus of the future over the next twenty years. Benefactors’ gifts will enable us to construct and renovate building and laboratories, purchase land and beautify the campus. Major donors’ have the option of naming facilities and other campus features.

- Annual Scholarships
 Each year Charles and Betti Saunders of the Charles and Betti Saunders Foundation meet the student for whom they provide a named annual scholarship. The University is grateful to the Saunders Foundation for its generosity and many other Foundations that provide inspiration and financial support for UST students.
