The Celts would just score 9 more points in the half. The Celts shot just 16 percent from the field in the half while the Privateers hit on 48 percent and went to the locker room with a 36-13 lead.

After the half, the Celts found the shooting touch and made it a game. After going down by 31, the Celts made a run to cut the margin down to 15 with just over three minutes to play. Next up for the Celts was the No. 17 ranked Xavier University Gold Rush. The Celts once again got off to a slow shooting start while Xavier was hitting challenged shots. Second chance points killed the Celts in the first half as the Gold Rush out-rebounded the Celts 23-8. The Celts hit the half trailing 25-36.

The second half saw the Celts making a late push once again. After a back-and-forth game for much of the second half, the Celts got some key stops late to close the margin on a 10-0 run. In the end, it was not enough to get over the hump dropping the game 51-56. The Celts are now 13-12 on the season with one more road game at University of Texas-Pan American on Saturday February 26th.
