| Celts Volleyball Signs Erwin |
The University of St. Thomas Celts signed Emily Erwin of Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas, to the women’s volleyball team
Erwin is a 5-foot-7-inch outside hitter and defense specialist. In her senior season at Kempner, she was named MVP and was Academic All-District and selected to the Second All-District Team.
Volleyball Head Coach Kallie Noble said Erwin will make an immediate impact for the Celts next season.
“She is a very smart player and has had really great training over the years,” Noble said. “She always finds ways to score and will be a great addition to our program and the University of St. Thomas.”
Erwin also currently plays club volleyball for Willowbrook Sports Complex.
St. Thomas finished up the season at 19-17 and was the runner up in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament
. UST lost in the opening round of the 2012 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Tournament. The Celts also had four players named as 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes
