Marketing Communications Earns Awards for Publications, Video
Image: TrophyPublications and a video produced in 2010 by the University of St. Thomas Office of Marketing Communications earned nationwide recognition in the 26th Annual Admissions Advertising Awards sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report.

The general Admissions video earned the Bronze award in the category for schools with an enrollment between 2,000-4,999 students. Merit awards were given to a two-page Admissions advertisement, the poster, “Don’t Get Hooked on Phishing” and the logo developed for the UST Freshman Symposium.

The Admissions Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, more than 2,500 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

“The Publications and Marketing Communications staff has done an excellent job in our branding and marketing efforts,” said Vickie Alleman, vice president of marketing communications and enrollment management. “They have worked well as a team to bring more strategic thinking to the entire process and it’s great to see them rewarded for their efforts."

Publications and Communications staff include: Marionette Mitchell, director of publications; Chris Zeglin, publications designer; Sandra Soliz, director of marketing communications; Molly Shook, senior communications coordinator; Elise Marrion, writer/editor; Ronnie Piper, social networking specialist; and Ezuma Ofong, web content administrator.

Judges for the Admissions Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of admissions’ marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of the Higher Education Marketing Report.
